Abstract

Background:Pulmonary TB is one of the 10 causes of death in the World. In 2020, there were an estimated 10.4 million new cases (incidents). Data from the health profile of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020 stated that there were 156,723 new cases of positive pulmonary TB. TB is also an indicator of the success of SDGs that must be achieved by Indonesia, namely reducing morbidity and mortality. Patients with pulmonary TB in Jambi Province currently reach 4,440 people with a suspect number of 4,592 people. Whereas in Merangin District, the total number of Pulmonary TB cases were 194 cases with 35 cases in Pamatang Kandis Health Center. But globally, the mortality rate of TB sufferers decreased by 37% from 2004-2020. In addition to treatment, prevention of the main things that must be done and protect themselves from transmission of pulmonary TB with the size of ventilation, occupancy density that meets health requirements. Research Methods: The type and design of the study were quantitative analytic types with cross sectional design and case control sampling method. The research site was conducted in the work area of Pematang Kandis Health Center. The population in this study is a population of 35 cases and control of 35 people. Research Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the physical condition of the house, occupancy density and economic status with the incidence of pulmonary TB. It is hoped that the Pematang Kandis Health Center will be able to carry out investigations of household contacts and neighbors of sufferers and improve counseling, especially related to pulmonary TB.
