KEPATUHAN DALAM PENGGUNAAN ALAT PELINDUNG DIRI PETUGAS PENGANGKUT SAMPAH DI KOTA BANGKO TAHUN 2022

Abstract

Background: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a device that has the ability to protect someonewhose function is to isolate part or all of  the body from potential hazards in  the workplace.Based  on  the results  of  a  preliminary  study  conducted  with  10  people  carrying  garbageworkers, it was found that 90% of workers carrying garbage did not use PPE during the process of transferring waste from the temporary disposal site to the garbage collection truck and there were some who only wore hats and protective clothing and did not use masks and gloves.

Research Methodology : This study is a quantitative analytical study with a cross sectional design. aims to determine the relationship between attitude, availability of PPE and adherence to the use of PPE among garbage collectors in Bangko City. The population in this study were all garbage collectors as many as 61 respondents. The results: showed  that  the  results  of  the  chi-square  test  conducted  showed  that  there  was  asignificant relationship between the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on attitudes (P-value = 0.001), availability of facilities (P-value = 0.012) It is suggested that the Environment and Hygiene Agency of the city of Bangko should be more assertive in implementing regulations onwaste transport workers, regarding theuse of PPE in work
