Background: The high birth rate is the main reason for the need for family planning services. Young women tend to use short-term modern contraceptives such as injections and birth control pills, while those who are older tend to use long-term contraception such as IUDs and female sterilization. target of 18.62 percent. Pulau Bayur village is still low in MKJP coverage of the 90% target of MKJP which are villages in other KB village programs.
Research method: This type of research is analytic research with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all couples of childbearing age in Pulau Bayur Village, Pemenang Selatan District, in 2022, totaling 163 PUS. The number of samples in this study were 62 people. This research was analyzed by univariate and bivariate
Results: There were 16 (25.8%) respondents who chose MKJP for PUS in the KB Village program. 21 (33.9%) respondents had poor knowledge. There is a relationship between knowledge and the choice of long-term contraceptive methods for PUS in the KB Village program.
Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and the selection of MKJP and the selection of long-term contraceptive methods for PUS in the KB Village program. It is hoped that the South Pamenang Health Center, especially health workers, will increase counseling activities about MKJP contraception so that the use of MKJP contraception in the village will increase.
